Approximately 50% of children commonly exhibit weaknesses such as shyness, fear of strangers, reluctance to speak in class, and hesitance to express themselves.
Speech courses, through a combination of training and presentation, provide each student with opportunities for practice and improvement, enabling them to overcome their shyness, build confidence and courage, and step onto the path of success, laying a strong foundation for their future development.
Mathematical Olympiad
What is Mathematical Olympiad?
Includes over twenty different modes of thinking such as:
1. Divergent thinking in sections
2. From easy to convergent thinking
3. Change of variables thinking
4. Reverse, Inverse, and Logical thinking
5. Spacial thinking
6. Three-dimensional thinking
Though in-depth understanduing of Olympiad mathematics can be difficult, it helps students broaden their horizons, enhance their thinking abilities, and consequently imporve their analytical and problem solving skills.
Simultaneously, their IQ levels are likely to see corresponsing improvements. This forms a solid foundation for studing mathematics, physics and chemistry in middle school
Scientific learning methods: Teaching in sections with increasing difficulty for in-depth understanding
Major Competitions: Caribou Contests, Math Kangaroo, AMC, SASMO
MOE Mathematics
Why learn Mathematics?
Mathematics contributes to the development and understanding in many disciplines and provides the foundation for many of today's innovations and tomorrow's solutions. It also underpins many aspects of our everyday activities, from making sense of information around us to making informed decisions about personal finances.
Primary education is a stage where students acquire important basic numeracy as well as develop logical reasoning and problem-solving skills that are required in many disciplines. It lays the foundation for the learning of mathematics for all students, equipping them with a tool for everyday life and the knowledge and skills for learning mathematics at the next level. It is also a stage where students' confidence and interest in the subject are built and their attitudes towards the discipline are shaped.
For these reasons, the Primary Mathematics Syllabus aims to enable all students to: acquire mathematical concepts and skills for everyday use and continuous learning in mathematics; develop thinking, reasoning, communication, application and metacognitive skills through a mathematical approach to problem solving; and build confidence and foster interest in mathematics.
Primary 1 Topics:
Numbers up to 100, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Length, Time, 2D Shapes, Picture Graphs, Patterns and Sequences, Data Handling, Money, Problem-Solving Skills
